Hello!  My name is Christina Mazzullo and I am a nutrition and fitness enthusiast who loves family, traveling, dancing, and the great outdoors!  I am energetic (almost annoyingly so), friendly, and passionate about nutrition (and everyone knows it)!  I studied Dietetics at Louisiana State University, and have multiple certifications for nutrition and personal training, but that pales in comparison to my passion for nutrition, and desire to weed through the misrepresentation of food and diet related information on the web.  My goal is to bring to light the truths that are contradicting and confusing to help you make sense of it all!

Growing up as a child of the 80s (don’t do the math to age me, age is just a number), sugar ladened food and drinks were the norm.  My family was what the world would call fit, so there was no concern for limiting consumption of these items.  Fast forward 20 years, and every member of my family has experienced some type of diet related condition such as, obesity, diabetes, Crohns disease, Celiac disease, dental carries, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and heart disease, to name a few. After giving birth to my first child, I too experienced diet related conditions such as rapid weight gain, rapid weight loss, and gallstones. However, nutrition did not become a passion for me until after my baby sister began struggling with obesity at a very young age.  Ten years ago, after my second child, I decided to make a drastic change.  It started as a change for my childrens’ nutrition and sleep, and developed into teaching other children nutrition and wellness. One day, one of my students came to me and said, “Miss Tina, my mom won’t make these foods for me, I like them, but I don’t buy the food at home.”  This encounter sparked my desire to teach adults, and from that moment on I was a sponge to all things nutrition and fitness related.  Now, I am in constant pursuit of knowledge in the area of nutrition, and since have helped hundreds of people take steps toward feeling their best, including myself, and the aforementioned family members.

My goal is to help people make small, sustainable steps over time to help them maintain forever change. Statistically, this approach is more permanent because “dieting” just creates a yo-yo affect that keeps people feeling like they are standing in quick sand with no hope in sight.  I also believe nutrition is only a small part of a bigger wellness journey that includes sleep, physical activity, hydration, stress reduction, and more.   This process should begin at a young age, before serious health conditions arise, which is why I work with people in all walks of life. Thank you for taking time to get to know me more, and I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey to a happier, healthier tomorrow!
